3/1/2010 Centene Corporation completed the sale of its Medicaid provider University Health Plans in New Jersey.

2/19/2010 A.M Best Company reaffirmed the BBB+ financial rating of Centene Corporation and Celtic Insurance Company. The rating company cited the company's strong national market presence in 49 states, consistent premium revenue growth, growing specialty service revenue and positive net income levels as reasons for the affirmation of the rating. Centene has reported positive net income in 4 of the past five years. Offsetting the positive factors, A.M. Best cited the company's increasing reliance on management of various state Medicaid plans which are under increasing cost pressures. Centene completed a public stock offering in January 2010 that increased the company's net capital by $104 million.

1/3/2010 Celtic Insurance was awarded accreditation for Health Plan and Health Utilization Management by the URAC.
