I have just lost my COBRA coverage and I am eligible thru the HIPA and I am 63 years old and had to apply for Social Security for income. The health insurance conversion with no change in provider is as much as what I get each month from Social Security. Can you find a less expensive plan for me?
OnlineAdviser responds:The only lower cost options are short term medical insurance and limited benefit insurance plans. Please see your state listings at www.freedombenefits.net to see if any short term medical, mini-med or supplemental plan is suitable.
Often a succession of high deductible 6 month short term medical insurance plans is used as a low cost coverage to span a gap until Medicare starts.
