Who do you recommend for accidental insurance and can you get a quote for the $15,000 coverage, for example?
OnlineAdviser responds:First check out Smart Accident Insurance. The plan coverage are higher than you requested - $50,000 to $250,000 but the premium is higher. Both the insurer and the plan administrator have strong reputations for their supplemental insurance. This is the best choice available, but because of the rich benefits and low deductible, the premium can be up to 1/3 the rate of a typical major medical insurance.
A lower priced plan with lower benefits is Value 24 Hour Accident. This is an association benefit plan typically priced around $50 per month (average) for a family. Two levels of benefits are available. The association is insured by a member of the Chubb Group.
Both add benefits to an underlying major medical insurance that may have a higher deductible or out-of-pocket expenses. When other coverage is not in force, the accident plan can be the primary insurance.
