Health insurance with high blood pressure?
A member asks:
Can I get health insurance if I have high blood
pressure?
OnlineAdviser responds:
High blood pressure that is controlled by medication is
not an obstacle to
qualification for any health insurance listed at Freedom
Benefits. We cannot speak for all health plans other
than those represented here, but it appears that blood
pressure controlled with medication is no longer a
significant underwriting issue for health insurance.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure is a serious health
condition that demands immediate attention. Treatment
for hypertension is relatively inexpensive even without insurance so have this issue addressed before applying for commercial health insurance.
