Celtic Insurance rate increase
A member asks:
I have been a loyal Celtic plan holder for years. However, my plan has leaped in price by more than 50 dollars per month without cause or explanation. I need assistance with this ASAP.
OnlineAdviser responds:
While we are sympathetic to your situation and am available to help you find a solution, we should
begin this response by pointing out that it would be difficult to name any major medical
insurance policy from any company that has not increased by a similar amount
over the past year. Not to be flip, but that is why we
call this a national crisis.
Still, there are options to explore. Please start by calling Celtic
Insurance member services (800-477-7990) and explain your situation and budget. They
will be able to propose alternate plan designs that cost les but do not significantly affect your coverage. We do not have access to the insurance company’s records but the member services representative will be able to address this issue quickly.
Second, consider that
Celtic Insurance is not usually
the low cost insurance leader since this carrier focuses
on providing high quality coverage to affluent clients.
Unitedhealthcare Golden Rule Insurance is usually a lower cost carrier in the markets where it is offered.
